You're bidding on a fanatstic piece of important Civil War history. This 17" x 22" provision abstract is hand signed by Pennsylvania 5th Regiment Colonel Joseph Washington Fisher who later became a General and fought in the most important battles of the Civil War. He was assigned to defend Big Round Top Hill at Gettysburg. This original document is a QM ration doc as the 5th camped 1863 prior to their march into significant battles. 

Potomac in the American Civil War. He served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1848 to 1849, the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 17th district from 1867 to 1868 and as chief justice of the territorial courts in the Wyoming Territory from 1871 to 1879.


When war broke out and the Pennsylvania Reserves were organized, Fisher became lieutenant colonel of the 5th Pennsylvania Reserves. He was promoted to the rank of colonel on July 1, 1862.
