Art Deco Bakelite GE Worlds Fair Souvenir Box.This collectible souvenir/promotional box from the 1933 Chicago's World Fair is reminiscent of the art deco era with clean lines in black and pistachio green. Most likely a giveaway from the General Electric Company, the box was designed by Edward Sloan for the fair showing a linear front panel and swirled lid lines radiating from the ball that move into the lines of the black bottom; chrome-like balls are seen as decorative feet and lid knob. Whether this piece was for cigarettes or vanity top, it is impressive as a decorative piece and topic of conversation of days gone by.

Estate find in good vintage condition; one small flea bite is noted (pictured, need a close-up to see). There are no cracks; minor light surface scratches to the black bakelite; the metal balls do have tarnish. Needs light leaning.Measures approx. 5"L; 3" W; 3.5" H (Photographed in natural light.)

Respectfully packaged to arrive safe to you.
