This is Francis Parkman's memoir of traveling the Oregon Trail, edited from his notebooks by Mason Wade. Published in 1943 by Heritage Press using the "Limited Edition Club" materials, it contains Maynard Dixon's 1942 full-color illustrations that are beautiful. There are also one-color illustrations scattered throughout the pages as well. No American history collection is complete without this edition.
